  2. General Survey Information • Total number of emails received: 6338 • Total number of surveys completed: 929 • 15% overall response rate • APA:12% • BA: 15% • HA: 16% • NAA: 22% • Answers to most categories were “Not Aware”

Communications • Responses showed alumni are requesting: • More frequent newsletters • Better/more consistent email communication • Social networking presence • Suggestions from NDAA Marketing and Communications team: • Need more frequency; quarterly or every other month • Does not need to be a full newsletter • Provide content unique to board • Tie communications to objectives of board • Include info on activities of the board • Share goals and progress toward goals • More robust websites

Club Involvement • Why are minority alumni not involved in clubs? • Time, money, geography • Programs not interesting • Do not receive information • Atmosphere too sports focused • Club not active • Suggestions made by survey respondents: • Volunteered to be diversity coordinator in club • MAN Boards should promote events together • Better promotion about club membership to minority alumni

Diversity Climate on Campus • Responses to this question included: • Many included “I feel” and “I assume” • Only a few definitive answers • Know minority enrollment has increased, not if climate has changed • Suggestions to improve alumni awareness of campus diversity: • Education through board communications • Highlight student groups and clubs • Admission and financial aid data • University commitment to diversity • Students share viewpoint with alumni
