  2. Pay/Leave • May utilize annual leave, military leave, and compensatory time • Let it remain in account • Use of annual leave in excess of 240 hours encouraged • Completion of HRO Form 92 • With-in Grade Increases and Pay Adjustments continue

  3. Federal Employee Health Benefit • Coverage can continue for up to 24 months in nonpay status • New bill authorizing payment of FEHB • Options • Continue coverage • Terminate • Delay reinstatement (if applicable)

  4. Federal Employee’s Group Life Insurance • Continue up to 12 months at no cost • Must elect to Continue or Terminate coverage after 12 months • Elect to Continue • Pay employee and agency share of the premiums • Must make payment arrangements before leaving for active duty • Reinstated automatically upon Return to Duty • Elect to Terminate • Right to convert to a non-group policy • Reinstated automatically upon Return to Duty

  5. NGAUSIT • Call (800) 955-7736 ext. 23155 to arrange payment of life insurance • Disability insurance stops and is reinstated upon return

  6. Thrift Savings Plan • May make retroactive contributions • Based on current TSP Form 1 • Receive package from HRO upon return to duty • TSP Form 41, required if you have a TSP Loan (Mandatory if you have a loan)

  7. Effect on Retirement • May make a military deposit (buy back) • No interest on deposit, if paid in full before end of third year from date of return to duty • Rules of deposit • CSRS before 1 Oct 1982 • CSRS after 30 Sep 1982 • FERS

  8. Additional Information • 5 days Admin Leave must be granted as soon as employee returns to technician status • New guidance on 5 days excused absence for each deployment in support of the continuing Global War on Terrorism.

  9. Additional Information • Able to apply and be considered for Technician Position Vacancies • HRO Website – New Announcements posted weekly • Copies of signed application packets with a supervisor w/instruction letter (recommended)
