  2. What do they look like? It has a dorsal background that is reddish brown and is 36 cm. to 62 cm. long. It also has black spots.

  3. Kirtland snake babies They have birth to 5 to 8 babies in late summer. They are about 11 to 17 cm. Their young are darker than the mother and father.

  4. Snake habitat This animal lives in forests where it is very shady.

  5. Diet of our snake It eats earth worms and slugs.

  6. Threats to our snake We hunt them and foxes, hawks, and raccoons eat them.

  7. How it Protect itself It protect its self by wiggling fast and stillness and hides in its burrow.

  8. It’s lifespan It lives for 5 years or more.

  9. Our favorite snake I like this animal because it has no legs.
