  2. SWE 6763 – Project Topic (Gary Smith) • Area - Software Product Attribute Metrics – Security • Focus – Security Metrics of Object Oriented Design • After reading the last article in class regarding OO metrics, I wanted to explore this topic a bit deeper. I found a couple of interesting articles about security metrics in OO design. I believe this topic will be of interest to the class as it relates to the last article we read regarding OO metrics. Additionally, this topic will broaden mine and each of my classmates knowledge of software metrics as is the core of this particular class.

My focus will be around the security attribute of software design and slanted toward OO designs. As with many other articles on metrics, there is controversy in the security metric as to how to measure, what should be measured and if that measurement is a good one to react on. There is a lot of good material in these articles. I do expect to add some additional articles to this list as there are several I am still reviewing which are showing promise, but I am not sure if they will fit in as of now. I believe my final reference list will be between five and ten sources when the project is complete.

  4. Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Ross Simmerman Software Quality Assurance (SQA) consists of a means of monitoring the software engineering processes and methods used to ensure quality. The methods by which this is accomplished are many and varied, and may include ensuring conformance to one or more standards, such as ISO 9000 or a model such as CMMI. • Software Quality • Quality Assurance • ISO 9000

  10. The area I will be looking at is Software Product Attribute Metrics. • More particularly, I will try to narrow down my focus to the “quality” and “usability” attributes. • Quality is more important than ever and the application of quality metrics in various design and development environments will be looked at. Shashank Jagirdar
