  2. Location Can be found between desert and tropical rainforest biomes. Located in wide bands on both sides of equator Found mostly in Africa Found mostly in the southern hemisphere.

Weather and climate Temperature • Warm temperatures year round • Two different seasons- • Dry season (winter) - colder around 70 degrees • Wet season (summer) -Very hot and humid Precipitation • during dry season only about 4 inches of rainfall • Between Dec-Feb there is no rainfall • In summer 15-25 inches of rainfall • In summer afternoons it rains for hours

  4. Amount of light air quality Good air quality in savannas. Little pollutions other then cars and other vehicles. Many plants to support life • Lots of sunlight • Small amounts of trees so little shade from the light

  5. Nutrient levels • Very rich volcanic soil • Provides plants with lots of nutrients who then provide animals food and shelter

Common species Animals Plants Pine trees, palm trees, shrubs, grass,baobab tree, fruit-bearing tree, ebony or mpingo • Zebra, Dung Beetle, Hyena, Crocodile, Vulture, Cheetah Wildebeest, Meerkat, Buffalo Termites, Lion, Baboon, Hunting Dog, Hippopotamus, Antelope, Rhinoceros, Dwarf Mongoose Wild Ass

  7. Endangered species Animals Plants baobab tree, fruit-bearing tree, ebony or mpingo, Brigalow, Pampas • Elephant, leopard, white lion, lion, tigers,

  8. Human influence • With tourism being a big attraction and many people going on safari’s humans are introducing vehicles and lots of pollutants. • Humans also illegally hunt animals like elephants and lions. Causing lower population levels of these animals
