  9. Paid internships: Offer an hourly wage of at least $10, benefits and a career ladder. Offer paid interns same wage as employees in a comparable position. Provide opportunity for paid interns to transition to unsubsidized employment after satisfactory completion of the paid internship. Are available to customers within the MD RISE target groups Entail expenditures to the employer for payment of unemployment insurance. Paid Internship Funds 9

How can I explore paid internship opportunities?: Contact your local department or DHR Central to provide a profile reflecting the proposed duties and the eligibility requirements Interview and select candidates based on referrals from the local department Enter into a hiring agreement with the local department Paid Internship Funds 10

  11. Expected Outcomes For dollars invested, customers will receive: • Full array of services • Skills training in sectors where there are viable employment opportunities • Paid internships/apprenticeships • Linkages to permanent competitive wage jobs - Increased wage growth
