Government • Uruguay’s government is a Constitutional Republic. • The United States is a Constitutional Republic. • A Constitutional Republic is a state where the head of state and other officials are elected as representatives of the people, and must govern according to existing constitutional law that limits the governments power over citizens.

  9. Culture • They make nice hand crafted leather goods. • They are very good at the tango. • They have very literary traditions.

  10. Tourist Attractions. • Aguas Dules: A fishing village known for sea food. • Purque National Santa Teresa: A monumental park on a hilltop. Popular for beaches and camping. • Montevideo: Known for white sandy beaches.

  11. History • Spanish arrived in Uruguay in 1956. • In 1603 cattle was introduced and became a source of wealth. • The first permanent settlement in Uruguay was founded by the spanish.

  12. Geography • Uruguay is small and heart shaped. • It’s located in the southern hemisphere of the Atlantic seaboard of South America. • 53 and 58 west longitude. 30 and 35 latitude.

  13. Fun Facts. • It’s complete name is “Republica Oriental Del Uruguay”. • In 1930 Uruguay hosted the first World Cup and won. • Uruguay has the longest like expectansywhich is 75 years.
