  2. Can you estimate the answers to these math problems? • 6/7 - 1/3 • 11/12 + 4/7 • 1/9 + 5/8 • Work with a partner to determine the estimated answer for each of these problems. Be prepared to explain how you got your answer!

What do you do?(Yes, write these notes in your journal) • Estimate the fractions • Step 1 • Look at the first fraction • Round it to the nearest 0, 1/2, or 1 • Step 2 • Look at the second fraction • Round it to the nearest 0, 1/2, or 1 • Step 3 • Add the rounded fractions to get an estimated answer

  4. Create the QUESTION! • Help, help! An error has been made. The publishers of the math program forgot to write the questions to a test! They only remembered to print the answers in the teacher’s guide. • Can you create challenging questions, based on logical thinking and high caliber math skills, for the answers provided? • (Extra points for especially creative answers…)
