  6. WINGS – Pilot Proficiency Program • A tool to mitigate aircraft accidents • A recurrent training program for GA pilots • A way to keep your head in flying

  7. Incentives For Participation • Improved Skill, Safety, and Professionalism • attained through consistent and organized recurrent training • You also get a nice set of WINGS pins, one for each Phase earned

  9. Incentives For Participation • Satisfactory Completion of the BASIC Phase satisfies the requirement for a Flight Review • in accordance with FAR Part 61.56(e)

  10. Incentives For Participation • Proficiency with Flight and Knowledge Subjects and Skills • Developed from actual accident causal factors

  11. Participation • The BASIC phase must be completed first, then the more advanced levels, if desired. • A pilot can work on activities in all three phases at the same time, but Master requires Advanced, and Advanced requires Basic • Any Pilot may earn each of the three phases regardless of their pilot certificate type. • Some restrictions on Aircraft used by pilots • Student pilots qualify for the Basic phase when they pass their check ride

Training Providers • A category for those who design their own courses in accordance with the Syllabus materials available • CFIs do not need to be and should not normally be a Training Provider at FAASafety.gov • Potential bona fide Training Providers can get more information at FAASafety.gov under the WINGS link
