  2. Question • Throughout the history of coffee, it has been blamed for a variety of diseases and disorders. New evidence is starting to link coffee to health benefits.

Parkinson's • Studies are starting to show a correlation between lower risk of getting Parkinson’s and coffee consumption • Caffeine may be what’s causing the lower risk but no conclusive research has been done yet on it. • In several recent studies caffeine has been shown to reduce the severity of Parkinson’s movement in patients with Parkinson’s

  4. Dementia • 2009 Study of 1400 people, followed for 20 years • Participants who drank 3 to 5 cups of coffee a day were 65 percent less like to develop Alzheimer's and Dementia • Antioxidant’s and caffeine could be the mechanisms involved in lowering risk

Type 2 Diabetes • Study of 193,000 people • More than six cups of coffee daily showed a 35 percent drop in likelihood of getting Type 2 diabetes • Australian researchers looked at 18 studies • Found that for every cup of coffee drank, daily 7 percent drop in chance of getting Type 2 Diabetes • Antioxidants purportedly share a role in this

  6. Stroke and Hearth Arrhythmias • Study of 83,700 nurses • 20 percent drop in stroke incidence in nurses who drank 2 or more cups of coffee per day • Participants who drank 3 to 5 cups of coffee per day were 20 percent less like to develop Abnormal Heart rhythm problems.
