Ministry for the Environment and Territory Brief History 2000 – Launch of the SICP with SEPA 2002 – New Chinese Administrations involved (e.g. MOST, BJEPB) 2002 – Johannesburg (WSSD): SICP included among “SD partnership – Type II Initiatives” 2005 – the Chinese Government indicated the Program as an model for the international cooperation, by awarding the prestigious International Science and Technology Prize Today – 45 projects for 162 millions Euro.

Ministry for the Environment and Territory Financing (2001 -2005) The program, so far, includes projects for 162 million €. 96 million €IMET (direct contributions and Trust Funds established at WB and Multilateral Funds) 24 million €Chinese Institutions 23 million €Italian companies 19 million €United Nations Foundation, UNEP, UNDP, UNIDO, GEF, WB, MLF/MP

  6. Ministry for the Environment and Territory Project Identification Projects identified within the frame of the objectives and programs of the UN MEAs (e.g. FCCC, MP, CCD, CBD, POPs, etc.). Priorities, project approval and financing decided by Steering Committees set up under the agreements between IMET and the Chinese administrations.

Ministry for the Environment and Territory Sustainable agriculture ODS and POPs phasing out Low emission transportation and ITS Air quality and Environmental monitoring Afforestation and land use management Natural resources protection and conservation Water resources management Clean Development Mechanism Renewable energies and energy efficiency Environmental Buildings and Eco-housing Sectors of intervention

Ministry for the Environment and Territory Project Management Projects elaborated by a permanent Sino-Italian Task Force of over 60 experts from IMET, Chinese administrations, Chinese and Italian Institutions and Universities (also in collaboration with Projects implemented – in partnership – by Italian and Chinese administrations and institutions, universities and research centers, public and private companies, international implementing acencies. Program / Projects monitoring entrusted to PMOs (Beijing and Shanghai) in the framework of an agreement between IMET and ICE.
