  2. What is JAM? IIT JAM is the joint admission exam for M.Sc. conducted by IITs every year. The exam is conducted for securing your admission in IITs or IISC for M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.-MTech., and other Post Bachelor Degree Programmes Every year, the exam is conducted in February in the following areas – Biological Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Mathematical Statistics.

Admission Procedure through IIT JAM • After qualifying IIT JAM Exam, candidate need to fill the admission form online. • If candidate has qualified in both papers(if appeared in two papers),only one admission form should be considered. • The admission form will not be considered if it found incomplete and the candidates should note that being in the Merit List of any test paper neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement for admission. • Admissions shall be made in order of merit and depending on the number of seats available at the Admitting Institute(s).
