  3. Who is the PTA? We are! All families in school are members. EVERYONE is welcome. Everyone’s ideas are welcome. Volunteers are always needed. • Whole school and classroom

  4. What does the PTA do? Sponsors Fun, Community-building Events • International Night, Spring Fair, Silent Auction • Monthly meetings with speakers Funds Educational Opportunities • Enrichment: Fun activities after school • Scholarships available • Field trips • Science week • Summer school scholarships

  5. What does the PTA do? (cont’d) Raises funds for school initiatives • Books for library • Large initiative every other year (Most recently: Library) • Classroom supplies for each teacher • National and State PTA dues • Arts Represents Long Branch in the Community • County Council of PTAs • Advisory Council on Instruction (ACI)

Calendar of Events September – Busy Month! • 4: Welcome back coffee • In the library, first day of school after drop off • 10: Monthly PTA meeting/Speaker • 6: Membership form/donation letter in backpack mail • 7-28: Wrapping paper and gifts fundraiser • (Innisbrook) • Delivery in Oct • 19: Back to school night

Calendar of Events October • 2: Monthly meeting/Speaker • 18-19: Conference days/Teacher Luncheons • 1-5: Scholastic Book Fair • 2 – Family Fun Night! 5-8pm • (tbd) : School pictures November • 7: Monthly meeting/Speaker • 3: International Night • 26: Adopt-A-Family (holiday) begins December • 4: Monthly meeting/Speaker • 21: Adopt-A-Family (holiday) ends [continues year round] • 14 (?): Concert
