Tide~ global learning is a teachers network who believe young people have an entitlement to global learning ~ the opportunity develop their own understanding of global issues by engaging with interdependence, development, human rights, sustainability, identity and belonging and democratic citizenship.

  3. What do we offer? • Teacher to teacher professional development • Thinking spaces • Range of resources ~ hard copy and online • Stimulation and amplification

Global Learning~ • developing a sense of positive personal identity ~ acknowledging respect for others and a wider sense of social responsibility • developing skills and confidence ~ engaging critically, developing interpersonal communication and engaging with different perspectives • understanding social connections ~ exploring conflict, peace, equality, justice and rights • understanding commonality ~ exploring similarities without ignoring differences • understanding interdependence ~ exploring the significant contexts of globalization and sustainable development • understanding participation ~ considering how to participate as citizens and recognize the rights of others in a democratic society
