  2. Monday, November 4, 2013 1.Hello! 2.Buzz or Book 3. Due Today: “End of Quarter Learning Summary” (handout) 4.Discuss DO NOW: Which is your favorite way to learn about Science? Think of a project you can do to show mastery of the first unit of Buzz science for your level.

  3. Levels 15/16: “end of quarter” question: Describe the periodic table of the elements. How many elements are there? Who first developed the periodic table? What do the numbers stand for? The periodic table is a chart that lists the elements in order and organized into families. There are 103 elements. Dmitri Mendeleev developed the chart in the 1800’s. Each atomic number is the number of protons in the nucleus of that element’s atoms.

  4. Levels 17/18: “end of quarter” question: Compare days, seasons, and years. How does the position of the Earth and its motion cause each of these? (answer: Earth’s rotation on its axis results in changing days. Its revolution around the Sun results in years. The tilt of its axis as it revolves around the sun results in seasons.)

  5. End of Unit PROJECT: Any format: pictures, words, presentation, etc. Show the main ideas of the first unit of BUZZ: 10 or more vocabulary words 1 or more diagrams, charts or graphs DUE THIS WEEK: By or before Friday.
