  2. Fire • If there is a fire report it to the teacher. Example- If you are preforming an experiment and a fire occurs immediately tell the teacher before the fire spreads or someone gets burned.

  3. Fire • When you are dealing with fire make sure you know where all of the safety equipment is located. Example- Make sure you know where the fire extinguisher and fire blankets are located.

  4. Chemicals • Never eat or drink in the lab. Example- If you have a drink and somebody adds or spills a chemical into the food or drink and you consume it, then it couldcause bodily harm or even death.

  5. Chemicals • If a chemical gets spilled, tell the teacher. Example-If you spill a chemical and somebody makes contact with the chemical, they could slip or it could burn their skin.

  6. Equipment • If something is chipped or cracked don’t use it and tell the teacher. Example- If you are heating a cracked test tube it could leak or explode.

  7. Equipment • Make sure you clean all equipment and return it to the proper location. Example- All beakers, test tubes, etc.. should be cleaned before and after use to remove any trace chemicals.

  8. Procedures • Read the directions before starting any experiment. Example- If you don’t read the directions you won’t know how chemicals will react with each other.

  9. Procedures • Don’t do anything without the teacher in the roombecause you aren’t supposed to preform any experiment or procedure without her instructing you to do so. Example- If something happens and you need to tell the teacher, you won’t know where she is.

  10. Behavior • No horseplay or pranks in the lab. Example- If you play around in the lab you could knock something over and cause bodily harm.

  11. Behavior • Be quiet when you are in the lab. Example- If you are talking in the lab you might not hear important instructions.
