Ability To Read And Write Speaking, Reading, Writing The Ability to Read and Write Understanding the World Understanding what you read Reading and Writing Ability to Read and Write Ability to Read and Write Being able to communicate through reading and writing Ability to understand multiple texts

  4. Literacy is being able to read, write, and comprehend the words that are in your vocabulary

  5. Should Foreign Language Classes be taught in Elementary School?

Yes, because… • It is easier for kids to learn new things when they are young. • Being bilingual has shown a less chance of getting dementia • Because of growing ethnic groups • A variety of languages are spoken in the United States • It helps stimulate their minds • America has a large number of immigrants who do not speak English No, because… • Our children already have too much to learn as it is • Our children do not need to accommodate to the needs of immigrants • We are expected to speak ‘their’ language when we travel, so ‘they’ can speak our language while they are here. • Don’t even get me started on that one…

  7. No, because small children have enough to learn at that age, and another language should be introduced when kids are older and know more about their own language first.

  8. Should there be a Required English Course Immigrants have to take before obtaining Citizenship?

  9. They are coming to America! It will help them have a more successful future If you want to live with us, then speak like us! English is the primary language What good are you if you can’t speak English? The majority of Americans speak English American should not have to change their lifestyles for somebody who will not change their language English is the native language It would help them communicate with the locals Easier communication

  10. English is the main language spoken here and to be an American citizen, you should be able to understand your surroundings and communicate easily with those around you
