Tulare County CNAP Development CNAP • April 2007 - February 2008 • April 2008 - February 2009 • March 2012 - June 2012 2009 CNAP Goals: • Increase access to fruits and vegetables • Increase awareness of the current education programs and services • Increase advocacy on healthy nutrition and life styles with policy • Maximize availability and utilization of all food and nutrition programs

CNAP Development 2011-2012 • USDA Funded Agencies • Access to healthy foods • Food Policies/local food systems • Increase utilization of USDA funded programs for children • Safe drinking water • Education to support behavior change • Increase food security • Access to safe places to play and be physically active • Buy fresh/local—Farm to institution • Heath in all Policies • Health in all Polices • Peer to Peer Education • Obesity prevention with outcome measures • Prescription for Health • Increase CalFreshparticipation/outreach • Worksite wellness • Healthy school food • Infrastructure development to manage multi-agency grants relating to fiscal responsibility CNAP TCNC Agenda April to July Re-visit 2009 goals Brainstorming session July Meeting

CNAP 2012 Principles • Increase access to and consumption of healthier foods • Support the integration of nutrition education, coordinate messages and information between programs • Support environments that promote physical activities, healthy living and lifestyles • Support and promote the impact of policies through health. • Support evidence based approaches with measureable outcomes

  6. CNAP 2012 Lessons Learned Reach out to current or past Network funded programs and discuss CNAP Connect with CCLHDN website to see examples of CNAPS Reach out to other counties regarding CNAP
