  2. Welcome to World History! Ms. Greenberg What do I have on my desk? An index card, syllabus and letter assignment. PLEASE: • Write your name (first and last) on the front with what you would like to be called. • Write one interesting fact about yourself that you don’t mind sharing with me and the person next to you.

  3. World History is a great class! In World History you will “become a historical detective” by asking and answering important questions about the past Let’s practice being one now!

  8. GETTING TO KNOW YOU SHEET: DUE Friday 8/23 I am so excited to have you in my World History class! On your desk is a letter I wrote to you about me and a questionnaire for you to fill out that asks you 1) about yourself, and 2) to connect with the history around you. • Syllabus Signature – DUE MONDAY 8/26 • I will check that you have a World History section in your binder by Block Day 8/28-29

Gandhi Questions we ask ourselves in World History • Cause and Effect: Why do events happen and what are there impacts? • Empathy and Point of View: How can we better understand the people of the past and their differing perspectives? • Connecting history to our lives: How can history help us live in the present?

There is MORE of this than you did in 9th grade. Be prepared. Writing: Essay writing – both long and short Collaboration- working with your peers
