  3. INTRODUCCIÓN (1) -PHP: Personal Home Page -Origen: Diseñado en Perl por Rasmus Lerdorf en el año 1994. PHP 3 en el año 1998. PHP 4 en el año 2000 (Zend Engine 1.0). PHP 5 en el año 2004 (Zend Engine 2).

  4. PROCESAMIENTO DE HTML -Lenguaje de programación para trabajar con HTML. -Interpretación y ejecución en el servidor. -El cliente recibe solamente el resultado de la ejecución desde el servidor.

  9. OTRAS CARACTERÍSTICAS DE PHP (1) PHP es una tecnología compatible con los principales sistemas operativos, como UNIX, Linux, Windows y Mac OS X. Compatible con la mayoría de servidores web como Microsoft Information Server o Apache. Éste último es el servidor web más común (dos tercios de los servidores HTTP del mundo lo utilizan) por lo que es importante que sea compatible.

  10. OTRAS CARACTERÍSTICAS DE PHP (2) Permite la conexión a numerosas bases de datos de forma nativa como MySQL, Oracle, ODBC (que es el estándar), etc. Esto permite la creación de Aplicaciones web dinámicas muy robustas.

  11. OTRAS CARACTERÍSTICAS DE PHP (3) Programación procedimental y programación orientada a objetos (con estructura similar a Perl o C). Creación de imágenes, PDF, películas FLASH, etc. Si utilizamos PHP con GTK (GIMP Tool Kit) podemos desarrollar aplicaciones gráficas, independientes del navegador, para varios sistemas operativos.

  12. CONCLUSIÓN • PHP es un lenguaje muy potente y sencillo en el procesamiento de HTML (aunque tiene otros usos). • La compatibilidad con sistemas operativos, bases de datos y servidores webs es muy alta. - Es libre, por lo que es gratuito y de fácil acceso.
