  1. QCQ Processing

  2. The QCQ Processing tool examines only newly edited NHD features. During editing, the QCStatus of newly edited features are set to "unchecked“ and no further editing involving those features may be performed. When the QCQ Processing tool is invoked, all the unchecked features are displayed in the QCQ Processing table.

  3. Step 1, Apply Rules: • Clicking on Apply Rules finds newly edited features that violate processing rules (these are rules that are additional to those rules applied during editing): • NHDFlowlines that are not attributed with a ReachCode • NHDFlowlines that form divergent flow • Additionally, Apply Rules will automatically merge into one feature those added or modified features with identical attributes (All the records with a “checked” QCStatus—e.g. from previous Apply Rules operation—will be removed from QCQ table)

Step 2, Review the Apply Rules results: • All newly edited features that do not violate the processing rules will be assigned a QCStatus of “Checked.” • Features that violate processing rules will be assigned a QCStatus of “Failed.” • The reason for a QCStatus of “Failed” will be in the QCRemark field. • After the QCRemark has been addressed, Apply Rules again.

  5. Step 3, Manually changing QCStatus: • If a feature with a QCStatus of “Fail” is actually correct (e.g. a floating NHDFlowline), • Select the feature in the QCQ Processing table and change the QCStatus from “Failed” to “As Is.” • Apply Rules again to remove the “As Is” record from the QCQ Processing table. QCStatus changes performed by the Change Status operation: Before Change StatusAfter Change Status Unchecked Unchecked Checked Unchecked As Is Unchecked Failed As Is Failed (because of disconnect) Unchecked
