  2. Goals • For the high proportion of older visitors to the Royal Academy as well as for former members of staff and their carers • A way to work with our local borough to develop a resource for the people of Westminster

  3. Planning and Partners • Seek advice and support from international arts organisations (MoMA NY), national organisations (Alzheimer’s Society), local advocacy organisations (WASSR), Westminster PCT and Westminster Arts.

  4. Visit Community Services • Visit to Treshams Resource Centre to meet service users and staff • Staff visit to the Royal Academy

  5. Gallery Visits and Practical Outreach Workshops • Gallery Visit with Handling of Artworks followed by Practical Outreach Workshop - Treshams Resource Centre • Gallery Visits and Object Handling Sessions - Westminster Memory Service

  6. Handling Resources • Handling Boxes created to support every exhibition

  7. Feedback • ‘I would like to thank you very much for your warm welcome to the Royal Academy..... • Our Memory Service clients really enjoyed themselves and many said the visit had ‘lifted their spirits’, the tour was ‘fascinating’, ‘absorbing’...... • Please pass our thanks on to Harry Baxter who spoke so knowledgeably and with great interest about Paul Sandby. His attitude to our clients was one of warmth and respect, which was much appreciated.’
