Language Arts • Houghton Mifflin includes: grammar, reading, spelling • Novels – Island of the Blue Dolphin and By the Great Horn Spoon • Spelling Test, Skills Test, and Comprehension Test every Friday • Challenge and Reteach pages • Writing Genres: Personal Narrative, Summary, Report of Information, and Response to Literature

Reading Counts Mission Possible Goal – Each child earns admission to 4th Grade Fiesta! • Effort based grade for each month will be based on the following scale: • Excellent - 15+ • Good - 12-14 • Satisfactory - 9-11 (Minimum needed to avoid Study Hall during Fun Friday) • Needs Improvement - 8 and below

  5. Math • Envision Math - Pearson Success Net • Timed math tests – X facts 0-12 by October 15 • Problem Solving/Quizzes • Daily math warm up • Challenges/Extensions
