  2. WHY? • There is more to HK degree than Physio. • Research is fun!

  3. Steps • Decide what area: ex phys, sociology, health, biomechanics, philosophy, etc….. • Web searches for advisor. • Talk to “us” • Contact potential advisor: Avoid: “hey you got room?” lingo. Professional. • Apply to program + apply for scholarships • Ask to speak to current students • Tip: picking advisor, not university –diff. than undergrad.

  4. Master of Arts (MA) • Flexibility with thesis topic • 3-5 courses • 3 hour classes/ seminar setting • Funding via Advisor grant, TAing, RAing. • OGS / SSHRC • Philosophy, sociology, history, “combo” , anthro, *some sport psych, coaching, *some sport management/marketing • If do MA cannot do PhD in Ex Phys • Independent work. Motivation. • TRAVEL via Conferences.
