  2. Acute Angle • An angle with a measure of less than 90 degrees.

  6. Capacity • The amount of space that can be filled (usually refers to fluids).

  10. Equation • A mathematical sentence that equates one expression to another expression. 3X+2=9X Expression Expression

  11. Equivalent forms of a Number • The same number expressed in different forms. 3/4 is the same as 0.75 is the same as 75%

  12. Estimation • The use of rounding and/or other strategies to determine a reasonably accurate approximation, without calculating an exact answer. »

  14. Flip • A transformation that produces the mirror image of a geometric figure. Also called a Reflection.

  16. Grid • A network of evenly spaced, parallel horizontal, and vertical lines.

  17. Inequality • A sentence that states one expression is greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, less than or equal to another expression. 8>7 5<3

  18. Length • A one-dimensional measure that is the measurable property on line segments. 18 cm 9 cm

  19. Mean • The arithmetic average of a set of numbers. 3, 6, 9, 11, 22 Mean = 10

  20. Median • The middle point of a set of ordered numbers where half of the numbers are above and half are below it. 3, 6, 9, 11, 22 Median=9

  21. Mode • The score or data point found most often in a set of numbers. 3, 6, 6, 9, 11, 22 Mode = 6
