  4. The Cornish coastline

  5. The Great Western Beach. Great Western is one of the four Newquay beaches popular with both surfers and families alike, with caves in the surrounding cliffs and rock pools to explore at low tide.

  6. GwithianTowansBeach Gwithianoffers a broad spacious sandy beach popular for surfing and is seldom crowded and great for taking a walk. A seasonal dog ban operates on this beach between Ceres Rock and Red River.

  7. Fishing and industry Cornwall is very close to the sea and has a lot of villages by the coast, Cornwall gets 40% of its food from the sea. Cornwall used to produce 30% of the worlds tin and has a lot of old tin, copper and coal mines, some you can visit like Minions.

  8. Bodmin Moor Ponies live wild on the moor. The Hurlers are a close grouping of three late Neolithic or early Bronze Age stone circles. Copper, tin and lead were once mined in the moor. Erosion exposed piles of flat rocks such as the Cheesewring.

  9. Minions Minions is a short distance from Liskeard on Bodmin Moor. The village is rich in history, heritage and legend. It boasts the highest public house in Cornwall. The local legend has it that some of the local men were playing a Cornish game known as hurling on the sabbath and were turned into stone as a punishment. Nearby there stands a mysterious stone circle strangely resembling the figures from the myth.

  10. General facts Launceston Population:106,153(2010) Launceston Castle used to be called Castle Horrible! Launceston is the gateway to Cornwall. There was a war in Launceston. Launceston is the capital city of Tasmania.

  11. Eden Project • This is what it’s like in the winter. They have activites like Santa’s Grotto and Ice Skating. In the domes, they have all sorts of tropical plants and fruits. They grow wondrous bananas and hot, spicy chillies. • It’s located in St Austell by the gorgeous sea and is the largest greenhouse in Europe.

  13. ST MARTINS CHURCH LEWANNICK. ST MARTINS CHURCH IS THE PARISH CHURCH IN LEWANNICK. Lewannick school use this ancient building throughout the year.

  14. Cornish Classics Cornish pasty A traditional Cornish recipe, Made from: Steak, Potatoes, Swede, Onions, Salt, Pepper and a knob of butter or margarine. Saffron cake A scrumptious Cornish cake , Made from: Saffron, Warm milk, Salt, Dried fruit, Flour, Butter, Yeast and Sugar. Kelly’s ice cream A brain freezing treat of delight, Made from: Double cream and Any sort of custard. Ginger fairings A touch of luxury Made from: Plain flower, Baking powder, Ground ginger, Mixed spices, Caster sugar, Golden syrup and a Bicarbonate of soda.
