  2. Try this • A 100-Ωtransmission line is connected to a load consisting of a 100-Ωresistor in series with a 10pF capacitor with 100Mhz signal. Find the reflection coefficient, VSWR, lmin, lmax and Zin at 1.23ʎ. • ZL = R + jL ; ZL = R -1/jC

  3. Assignment (by group) • You would like to connect a 50 Ω cable wire to 25 + j20 Ω load antenna for Thailand TV reception. Design a matching network by using series short circuited stub and then : • Illustrate a complete matching network schematic diagram. The operation frequency is at 1 GHZ and transmission line dielectric constant, Ɛr = 2.2. Evaluate the dline, dstub in meter, reflection coefficient and VSWR. (Use Z Smith Chart).

  4. Re-evaluate (a) (i) by considering second solution on a new Z Smith chart. Compare which solution is economical to fabricate on microstrip printed copper board, first solution in (a) (i) or second solution in (a) (ii) and discuss the reasons.
