EPOX-Z NRG To be effective any cool roof coating must first act as a barrier to prevent chemicals and moisture from reaching the roof surface In general, the more permeable a coating is to the passage of moisture as is typical of many water-reducible coatings, the greater its affinity for water and the greater the increase in transmission when tested in and exposed to high humidities …ASTM D 1653 Performance characteristics of coatings can be evaluated by laboratory protocol Specifically ASTMD 1653 for Permeability, ASTM D 714 for blistering and ASTM D 4214 for degradation or chalking

ASTM D 1653 Permeability Coatings with ratings <1 are considered impermiable
