  2. 2) They can sense and respond to change. 3) They reproduce.

  3. 4) They have DNA. 5) They use energy.

  4. 6) They grow and develop.

  5. B) NEEDS OF LIVING THINGS (NOLT) 1) Food

  6. 2) Water 3) Air

  7. 4) A Place to Live

  8. C) DETAILS REGARDING NEEDS OF LIVING THINGS:

  9. FOOD provides: ENERGY:to do the work of gathering materials, building and repairing parts. MATERIALS:to build and repair parts.

  10. WATER ENABLES CHEMICAL REACTIONS:the body needs water for its chemical reactions that help it grow and repair itself. TRANSPORTS MATERIALS:such as food and energy supplies.

  11. AIR contains: OXYGEN:to enable living things to undergo respiration, which releases energy from food for cells use. CARBON DIOXIDE:used by producers to make food.

  12. LIVING SPACE Is needed so creatures can continually get the following: FOOD WATER AIR

  13. D. Chemistry of Living Things atoms compounds/molecules inorganic compounds organic compounds minerals carbohydrates proteins lipids nucleic acids starch sugars fats & oils made of amino acids DNA RNA

  14. C) QUESTIONS REGARDING NEEDS OF LIVING THINGS: 1) What does FOOD provide to living creatures?

  15. 2) Why do living things need WATER?

  16. 3) What does AIR contain that is so important to living things?
