  2. Crib Safety CRIB SAFETY IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH. • Your responsibilities for crib safety are in three parts: • Purchase the correct, safe crib. • Correctly store and maintain cribs. • Correctly install and inspect cribs for guest use. Annual Meeting

  3. Crib Purchases There are federal standards from the Consumer Products Safety Commission shown at: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml11/11260.html. Some states have additional standards. Annual Meeting

  4. Crib Storage and Maintenance • Do not pile other stored items on top of cribs. • Do not use cribs if screws, fasteners or wood-to-wood joints are loose. • Do not use cribs with homemade, temporary repairs. • Do not use a crib mattress that has a gap of two fingers or more between the mattress and the frame. • Do not use cribs with a moveable (drop) side.   5. Crib Placement • Do not place cribs near windows, even windows that are not operable. • Do not place cribs near HVAC fans. • Remove any cords and devices with cords from the area. • Inspect cribs for damages and loose parts before leaving the room. If found, do not use. • Do not leave blankets, bedding or sheets in the crib. Annual Meeting
