Current Status • 2009 Budget • Cut of 8% to state aid (originally 10%) • NJKI cut 1.39 million (over last 2 years) • 2010 Budget • All departments told to submit strategies for budget cuts of 20% • Local Issues • Municipal Funding Cap continues to create pressure for local government • League of Municipalities trying to reduce 1/3 mill minimum funding requirement to 1/6 mill

  3. NJLA Response • Postcard Campaign was instrumental in reducing the cut in state aid from 10% to 8% • Model Resolution in opposition to the League resolution • Survey of the membership to identify service priorities • Statewide forums to hear directly from the membership
