  1. English 10 - 1/27/14 • What are the different perspectives on the issue you are studying. What grounds do you have for the claims you have collected? • What did the arts graduate say to the engineering graduate? • Paedophobia – fear of dolls. • Goals – Evaluate claims, grounds and warrants from Toulmin’s model and how they relate to the human impact and stakeholders. • Homework – Make sure your analysis paragraph is completed for tomorrow. Don’t forget to study for Quiz #19 on Friday.

  2. English 10 - 1/28/14 • What sort of claims and grounds do you have that support different viewpoints? Any thing new from Mr. Cate’s class? • What is the worst part of hunting elephants? • Phobophobia – dread of fear. • Goals – Continue writing CBA Essay. Focus on Data and Analysis. Authentic Intellectual Work. • Homework – Try to add a draft of your data analysis paragraph to your essay. Don’t forget to use the transition between paragraphs technique.

  3. English 10 - 1/29/14 • What can be done to help stakeholders deal with your issue? How can we undo what we have done through human impact? (solutions?) • What is large gray and wears glass slippers? • Gamomania – a form of insanity characterized by odd or extravagant proposals of marriage. • Goals – Work on solutions paragraph and link to hook. • Homework – Complete the solutions paragraph and thus the first draft of the essay.

English 10 - 1/30/14 • Which part of your writing do you need to practice so that you can score successfully according to my rubric? • Why do elephants have trunks? • Ergasiophobia – fear of work. • Goals – Insert transition words. Mini lesson on appositives and absolutes. Begin work on works cited page and first revisions. Check the evaluation sheet. • Homework – Have the Works Cited page done by tomorrow.

English 10 - 1/31/14 • Five minutes to study for Vocabulary #19. • What did Mrs. Bullet say to Mr. Bullet? • Formication – A feeling that ants are crawling all over one’s skin. • Goals – Complete Vocabulary #19. Make revisions to CBA paper. Focus on appositives and absolutes. Complete your essay on the weekend. • Homework – Final Draft CBA essay due on Monday.
