  1. Asteroids • By Madison Kille

  2. Asteroid Apophis • Scientist believe that an asteroid named Apophis will come very close to the earth on April 13th Friday 2029. • It will pass through an object in space called " The Keyhole". The Keyhole is a tiny region of space where a planet's gravity would alter the passing of an asteroid. Scientist believe in 2036 the asteroid will hit Earth.

  3. What Will Happen • The asteroid will probably hit in the Pacific Ocean and cause a tsunami in California • The tsunami will cause a lot of damage in Santa Monica beach. • The explosion of the asteroid will be equal 2.5 megatons of TNT, or about 150 Hiroshima bombs.

  4. How to Stop it • The scientist will try to stop it, but first they have to study what it is made of and it's exact shape. • They will try to stop it with a gravitational tractor which will speed up or slow down the asteroid's path. • A gravitational tractor is a spacecraft that deflects another object in space, typically an asteroid that might impact into earth.

  5. Conclusion • In conclusion the human race may be in danger, but NASA is doing everything they can to stop the asteroid.
