  2. Global Strategic Plan • “The IIA will collaborate globally to expand the capacity of the profession”. • Specific objectives: • To ensure minimum services to all members. • To address the needs of emerging and small Institutes. • To enhance the repository and exchange of products and services.

  3. Minimum Services • Free access to IPPF’s Mandatory Guidance in the local language. • Access to certification preparation courses. • Access to a number of CPE hours annually.

  4. Minimum Services • Access to at least one local networking event annually. • Access to internal audit-related publications. • Access to an Institute webpage that is maintained and current with basic information.

  5. Capacity Building Initiatives • African Development Initiative • 1st African Workshop in 2014 (Uganda). • 30 attendees from 17 Institutes. • Action plans with 3 major goals to be achieved over the following 12 months. • Outstanding results from several participating Institutes.

Capacity Building Initiatives • African Development Initiative • 2nd African Workshop • (13-14 August, Cape Town - South Africa). • Discussions around the needs of the profession in the region and how to best serve members. • African Caucus • During Global Council, African leaders will meet to discuss advocacy efforts to strengthen the profession in the region.

Capacity Building Initiatives • International Chapter Program • Through this new program, IIA Global HQ will assist Institutes in administering their membership and delivering minimum services to their members. • A new Mentoring Program will also be deployed to ensure that International Chapters mature more efficiently.

  8. Capacity Building Initiatives • International Chapter Program • The ICP will be launched in Q3-Q4 2015 and will be used automatically for all new International Chapters to be formed. It will also be available for any existing Institute that voluntarily wishes to take advantage of this program.

  9. Capacity Building Initiatives • Progress Through Sharing • IIA Global HQ aims to leverage its resources to support Institutes and International Chapters; however it will soon need to engage other Institutes due to limitations such as language and culture.

  10. Input is needed • Polling questions and discussions will help IIA Global HQ understand: • How more established Institutes can offer support. • How small, newer, or developing Institutes can benefit from this assistance. • Current level of sharing among Institutes.

  14. 2015 – 2020 Strategic Plan • Professionalism Strategies … • Share and promote timely and responsive knowledge and guidance on emerging issues needed by the internal audit function and internal audit members and professionals. • Assess the future direction of the profession and prepare internal auditors for success through clearly defined learning pathways and established career maps. • Partner with globally recognized academic institutions to enhance alignment of academic offeringswith standards, influence curricula and linkage to certifications, and collaborate on research.

  15. 2015 – 2020 Strategic Plan • Professionalism Strategies … • Develop and promote a maturity model with clear guidelines for internal audit activity. • Review and enhance means by which we hold members accountable for conformance to the IPPF principles, codes of conduct, and local laws and regulations. • Assessthe rigor, credibility, and demand for the global certifications and qualifications and deploy appropriate strategies for enhancement.
