Skin Diseases Which Aggravates In Winter Atopic eczema is one of the common Autoimmune disorders which usually tends to get aggravated in winter months.It is a typical pattern of skin inflammation which is often seen in children where one or both parents are sufferers.Generally the skins feels dry and Itchy. Some areas of skin become red and inflamed.Commonly affected in infants is Face. In older children and Adults the skin folds in front of the elbows, wrists, back of the knees, around the Neck. Usually Itching is very severe.

  4. DO’S 1. KEEP AWAY FROM A HOT BATH. Always use Lukewarm water. 2. MOISTURIZER Dry skin can leads to flare- ups.To avoid flare ups gently apply Moisturizer immediately after a bath on wet skin. 3. SKIP THE SCENTS Try to avoid lotions, soaps, creams with fragrances.Use mild, color free, non perfumed products on the skin. 4. CLOTHING Use always loose fitting cotton or organic fabrics. Avoid wool, Nylon or heavy synthetic fabrics. Avoid Allergens Dust, pollen, or pet Dander. 5. EASE THE STRESS Stress can cause to itch and scratch.

DON’T USE JUST ANY LOTION A moisturizer with high content of oil which is always better to hold water inside your child’s skin.Don’t use petroleum jelly unless it is used immediately after a bath or shower. 2. DON’T SCRATCH ON THE SKIN RASHES. The more you scratch, the more you’ll itch and you’ll get trapped in a vicious cycle.Keep their nails trimmed short. 3. DON’T LET THE SKIN OVERHEAT Hot water actually dry out your skin. Hot water can also open your pores up too much, allowing irritants in the air to get in. 4. DON’T IGNORE INFECTION Skin which is irritated and inflamed is at risk for bacteria and viruses. Do keep an eye out for signs of infection, so you can treat them quickly.

  6. 5. USE OF HAND SANITIZERS Waterless, Antibacterial cleansers are hard on skin.Always wash your hands with water, keep it cool, pat dry without rubbing and moisturize right after your are done. 6. SMOKE Being around smoke is bad. It can lead to eczema.
