Conversion of INIS NCL (Grey Literature)microfiche digital media • Microfiche from 1970-1997: over 600,000 articles • Digital (PDF) since 1997 • Conversion project started in 2002 • Routine part:Outsourced • Enhancement, QC, OCR, web optimization: INIS • ~40% of the collection digitized (~5 mio pages) • Provide each country own digitized collection • Online access via INIS DB (with restrictions) • Stored in ISO Standard • Expected completion: next 2-3 years 11th JTCM, 6-8 Nov 2007, Vienna/Austria (#6.1) 3

Digitization of Member States Collections • Brazil: 50 years of CNEN (Comissao Nacional de Energia Nuclear) Special subset : Brazilian authors’ works in INIS DB • Sweden: historical AB Atomenergi (changedname to Studsvik Energiteknik AB):reports digitized, metadata & full text in INIS • Latin America Region: Mexico: Internal Reports of ININ (Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares) Uruguay: Uranium Resources collection (in consideration) 11th JTCM, 6-8 Nov 2007, Vienna/Austria (#6.1) 8

Dedicated Knowledge Preservation Projects Germany:KNK II test reactor: CD-ROM with full text of 264 technical & scientific documents - 17 years of rich operating experience, final shutdown & decommissioning Serbia: Knowledge base establishment of RA-type Reactor : Spent fuel storage and management • over 2000 scientific & technical documents • R&D, design, analysis, costruction, operation experience, final shutdown, decommissioning • Challenge:digitization of oversized design and engineering plans of the reactor plant • RB-type Reactor project started 11th JTCM, 6-8 Nov 2007, Vienna/Austria (#6.1) 9
