Issue: There needs to be standardized, joint airfield criteria published for contingency operations OEF and OIF lessons learned and field inputs highlight a disparity between the services…and NATO and ICAO and host-nation In some cases criteria not followed, led to mishap or HATR Confusion on what criteria to use, when But even with standardized criteria, training/compliance remain an issue Issue Summary

Actions to Date • Established the Joint Airfield Operations Advisory Council…group has been meeting quarterly since Jun 04 • XAM assigned a dedicated position to work this issue • Reviewing all airfield criteria guidance to determine differences • Offering AM training products/courses to US Army • Proposing changes to AFJPAM 32-8013,V1 & 2 AFFSA to meet w/AFCESA to discuss way ahead

  5. Way Ahead • AFFSA will meet with AFCESA to discuss publication organization (UFCs, AFJMAN, ETLs, ACs, AFIs, T.O.s) • XOO push to sister services ops side for support • XOO push to AF/IL to standardize contingency criteria • JAOAC continue to identify and address joint airfield criteria concerns
