HISTORY. The Institute was founded in 1886 as Lorenzo Cobianchi "School of Arts and Crafts" which was specialized in Mechanics, Chemistry and Textiles, and in Electrical industry at the beginning of the twentieth century. THE PRINCIPLES OF OUR SCHOOL.

HISTORY The Institute was founded in 1886 as Lorenzo Cobianchi "School of Arts and Crafts" which was specialized in Mechanics, Chemistry and Textiles, and in Electrical industry at the beginning of the twentieth century.
THE PRINCIPLES OF OUR SCHOOL The ” Lorenzo Cobianchi” school aims to prepare citizens able to make competent choices in their life and professions according to the constitutional principles. Therefore, the school tries to stimulate the growth of each person, by accepting adolescents in the role of students and citizens, promoting a virtuous circle in which you can think, learn and do. The life of the school community is based on freedom of expression, thought, conscience and religion, in mutual respect of all the people who compose it, rejecting every ideological, social and cultural barrier.
LIBRARIES AND CANTEEN SERVICE LIBRARIES The Institute has a general library with 18,450 volumes and multimedia station with INTERNET connection options. CANTEEN SERVICE In the lower part of the school we have a canteen with a bar and restaurant servicefrom 7.30 am to 4.00 pm
METHODS OF TEACHING The didactic activities are structured keeping in mind the abilities and the time of concentration of the students,alternating frontal lessons with other teaching methodssuch as, for example, the interactive and cooperative learning.
SCHOOL DEPARTMENTS The Cobianchi school is a high school which is divided into two main departments: The Vocational and Technical school and the Lyceum. All courses last five years. The Technical department deals with: ■ Mechanics, Mechatronics and Energy ■ Electronics and Electrical Engineering ■ Chemistry, Materials and Biotechnologies ■ IT (Information Technology) and Telecommunications The Lyceum Department deals with: ■ Languages (English, German and French) ■ Applied Sciences ■ Human and Social Sciences
The departments of Chemistry, Materials and Biotechnologies The departments of Chemistry and Biology integrates expertise in the field of materials, instrumental analysis, chemical-biological processes of production, according to the needs of the territorial situation in chemical, biological, pharmaceutical, healthcare fields and also in the prevention and management of environmental hazard. It has three sections: Chemistry and Materials Healthcare Biotechnologies Environmental Biotechnologies
Chemistry and Materials Chemistry and Materials, which deepens the skills related to methods for the preparation and characterization of chemical systems, development, implementation and control of chemistry and biotechnology projects and the design, management and control of chemical plants;
Healthcare Biotechnologies • Biotechnologies and Healthcare deals with the methods for the characterization of biochemical, biological, microbiological and anatomical systems and the use of health technologies in main Biomedical, Pharmaceutical and Food Industries.
Environmental Biotechnologies • EnvironmentalBiotechnologiesdeals with the responsibility and the control of projects, processes and activities in environmentalsafety and the study on the interactionsbetween the energysystems and the environment;
A look closer to our adventures… We visited the NaturalReserve of Fondotoce where we studied the fauna and flora of the area. Wevisited the museum, Museo dell’Alpeggio, about the historyof Alpe Devero. Afterthatwevisited in this Park the dam and the Witches’ Lake.
