Who is the White Crow? • Born in Austria, 1889 • Moved to Germany when his mother died • Wanted to be an artist • Passed messages between the trenches for Germany • Wounded twice, received the Iron Cross • 1924 – Ran from troops during a revolt; a friend talked him out of committing suicide • He is arrested and writes Mien Kampf • Devastated by Germany’s loss – life goal to bring Germany back to it’s power and glory
