Mr. Lesko’s Newsletter SOL’s & Homework for this week: Important Events coming up: Language Arts:Making Predictions, Context Clues, Character Development, Development of Plot, Prefixes and Suffixes Skills: Introduction to Realistic Fiction HW: Independent Reading for 20 minutes nightly. Word Study: Word Study Lists are on Prefixes and Suffixes. Spelling Menus are due Thursday August 21st. Test will be Friday August 22nd. Math: 5.3 Prime and Composite Numbers Even and odd numbers Greatest Common Factor and Least Common Multiple • Word Study Menu – August 21 • Word Study Test – August 22 • Book Fair – September 8 - 15 Note to Parents or Guardians: Please make sure agendas are signed nightly. This will ensure that you are notified of your child’s homework. If you have any questions or concerns please list them in your child’s agenda or feel free to send me an e-mail (mlesko@amherst.k12.va.us). Newsletters will be sent out weekly, and they will include work that is to be completed that week and the topics covered in class. Newsletters will also be available online on my classroom website. I look forward to working with your child throughout this school year!
