You will stand before the judge of all. “Each of us shall give account of himself to God” (Rom 14:12). “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” ( 2 Cor 5:10).

One: Imagine what hell is like. • Hell is a place of great torment. • “Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame” (Lk 16:24). • Hell is an eternal place. • “The smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name” (Rev 14:11). • Hell is a place of horrible worms. • Mk 9:43-44. • Hell is a horrible place. • Matt 22:13.

Two: Examine yourself. • Self-examination should be a key component of our Christian lives. • “Let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup” (1 Cor 11:28). • “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves” (2 Cor13:5). • Test yourself this week. • Are you truly ready to stand before the Lord in judgment?

  7. Three: Ask this question: “What will I do today that will lead me closer to heaven?” • Every day we can move closer to heaven. • What will you choose?
