  1. Ron Michener 21 October 2012 • Sermon title: God’s Gracious Hospitality in a Home Under Construction • Scripture: Ephesians 2:19-22

  2. Introduction: Fitting in and feeling left out “A family is shelter from the storm, a friendly port when the waves of life become too wild. No person is ever alone who is a member of a family.” -- Rudyard Kipling “Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind.” -- Lilo& Stitch (Disney)

  3. Ephesians 2:19-22 19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

  4. Consequently, we are . . . 1. Saints, not sinners 2. Members of God’s HOUSEHOLD 3. Built on the foundation of . . . a. apostles and prophets b. Jesus as chief cornerstone 4. Joined together . . . to become a temple!

  5. Conclusion Are we showing off God’s family building work well? God has brought you in to His family circle, into His home – and once God has included you in His home, nobody gets left out. It’s the safest home possible.
