January 14, 1832 Wall Info Photos Media Questions from the media… First, how did you influence the eventual split between England and the Colonies? Second, how do you think that history will view you? As a villain, a hero, a patriot, how? Finally, what do you feel was the most important factor leading up to the American Revolution and why? Well, I helped fight in the Battles of Monmouth, which was between Britain and the colonies… but I also fought in many other wars between the two rivals. I think that I will be viewed as a hero, and a patriot because I was a hero in helping with woman's rights (plus I have a monument in New Jersey), and a patriot because I helped the colonies split from England. I think the most important factor leading up to the revolution was the fact that Britain kept trying to control and restrict our rights. If they didn’t take away our rights, I believe the Revolution wouldn’t of happened because we would already have a great form of freedom.
