  1. Shakespeare’s othello A tale of love, tragedy, and deceit

  2. Handkerchief:

  3. Shakespeare?!?! I know what you all are thinking……

  4. William Shakespeare • “Shakespeare’s stories transcend time and culture.” • -Amanda Mabillard, a freelance writer and specialist in Shakespeare • The remarkable thing about Shakespeare is that he is really very good—in spite of all the people who say he is very good.” • -Robert Graves, English poet

  5. Shakespeare’s Othello • Trust/Betrayal: Tests the lines of trust between friends, and even the line between lovers • “Bros over Hoes”/“Bro Code” • Jealousy: Nothing can be compared to what can be made up by a mind after an idea has been placed there. • Ideas of jealousy engulf you and soon become all that you think of

  6. Effects on my life • Othello has helped me to reanalyze almost every relationship in my life, and has made me more aware of motives behind the said relationships. • Is it better to trust everyone? Or to trust no one? Am I, in turn, more vulnerable? • It has helped me to view my romantic relationships in a different light. • I’m usually a very jealous type, and after seeing how the characters interact with the emotion, I’ve learned how stupid being jealous really is. • More than anything, Othello has changed my view on literature and reading as a whole. • His beautiful words and imagery reached out to me in a way unmatched by other works. • His ideas of friendship and relationships are still relevant today, only reemphasizing his literary genius and the legacy he has left behind for generations to come.

  7. Questions?? Time to ask those nail-biting questions you’ve been dying to ask!
