The film scored on all levels, brilliant performances, sensational music and stunning visuals. But what made the film even more appealing was debutant director Raju Murugan's ingenious script, which chose not to arouse empathy for its characters or their disability. 2)Movie: Inam Director: Santosh Sivan Cast: S. Karan, Sugandha Ram, Saritha, Karunas Ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan's controversial film Inam was set in the backdrop of the Sri Lankan Civil War. Within three days of its release, the film was, however, withdrawn from theaters in Tamil Nadu due to protest from Tamil fringe groups. The films biggest strengths were its well-written characters and the harsh truths it revealed about innocent children and everything they lost in a strife-ridden nation at the height of the war. 3)Movie: Vaayai Moodi Pesavum Director: Balaji Mohan Cast: Dulquer Salman, Nazriya Nazim Dulquer Salman, son of Malayalam superstar Mammootty, made an impressive debut in Tamil cinema with Director Balaji Mohan's Vaayai Moodi Pesavum. A refreshingly different romantic comedy, the film highlighted the power of silence, successfully conveying how a lot can be said without uttering a single word. The director's wacky sense of humor made the film even more entertaining.
