  3. Caño Cristales islocated in the Sierra de la Macarena National Park, withintheMunicipality of thesamename in the Meta Department ofColombia.

  4. Theriverisrelatively short, with a total length of about 100 kilometers, and about 20 meterswide. In the local languageisknown as a “caño”, whichis a waterbody of sizebetween a river and a creek.

  5. Caño Cristales isalsoknown as theriver of 5 colors. Thepigmentation in thepicturesisduetoalgae and mossthatcovertherocksthatformmost of itsbottom. Thealgae and mossgrow in yellow, blue, green, black and red, creatingtheincrediblecontraststhatmaketheriveranamazing color spectacle, and anunforgetableexperiencetothevisitorstothiszone in Colombia.
