  1. Some Facts About Mental Illness in Child: • About one in five American children has a mental disorder. • About 5-9% of children ages 9 to 17 are affected by a serious emotional disturbance. • 79% of children aged 6 to 17 with mental disorders do not receive mental health care

  2. Various Reasons for the Mental Illness in Child : • Violence in the Family or in the Community. • Failing to score good marks in class. • Depression due to various reasons. • Change of Chemical composition at maturation.

  3. Consequences of Mental Illness in Child : • Failure in School. • Disobedience • Juvenile and Criminal involvement. • Suicide. • Poor employment opportunities in adulthood.
