  1. WEATHER REPORT FROM ROMANIA

  2. The students of the Grammar School Magura became active members of the TerraNostra team when they started measuring the temperatures in Celsius degrees and rain levels in terms of gathered rain, in October 2011. They have been doing this for more than a year now, and here are some of their results.

  3. The collected data were presented in a table of this layout, including the hour of measuring and observations.

  4. Thus, we can compare, say, January and February,2012 with January and February,2013, in the following way: • This January was much milder than the last one. • The temperature in February 2013 was about ten degrees higher than in 2012, the same month. • The good news is that in the first month of this year we had much more water in our soil than in the last year’s first month. • Regarding February 2013, the quantity of water is slightly smaller than that of the February 2012.

  5. Also, we can remember with pleasure that on the seventeenth of January, 2012 we had the first snow… and the Christmas was coming soon!

  6. Furthermore, we can have a look at the level of the days of a month. From the chart beside, our team has concluded for October 2012 the following: • The hottest day was the first (270 C), while the coldest was the twenty seventh with only 100 C. • The average temperature of October was 19,70 C. • The general tendency of temperature values was of descent.

  7. Visualizing the gathered rain levels, we will be a bit disapointed: • The dominant data have 0 as value. • Luckily, there is a maximum registered on the 25thof October. • Simply expressed, it rained only between the 24th and the 28th of the month in question.

  8. From this general representation, we can draw some conclusions regarding the whole year 2012: • July and August remained the hottest months of the year, while the coldest was February. • The wettest month was by far May, the driest being January, despite snowing then.
