  1. A Detailed Overview on NEET Syllabus and Exam Pattern The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is a national-level medical entrance exam. This exam is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency for candidates aspiring to pursue medical courses like MBBS and BDS across 355 MBBS and 300 Dental colleges in the country. It is the single examination conducted to fill around 54,000 seats in government medical colleges across the country along with seats in some private medical colleges. As per the government of India, candidates need to take this test to pursue medical or dental courses in India or abroad. Lakhs of students every year appear for this entrance test which is believed to be one of the toughest competitive examinations in India. The exam is conducted in offline mode and is a pen-paper-based test comprising objective-type questions and students are supposed to mark their responses on an OMR sheet. To crack one of the toughest competitive exams in India, utmost dedication, devotion, and determination are required from the students. Students should prepare for NEET under the able and expert guidance of renowned educational institutes and their esteemed faculties to increase their chances of success in the examination. Complete knowledge and awareness of the NEET syllabus will be effective for students to plan their preparation strategy. The syllabus of NEET is designed by the Medical Council of India after taking into consideration the syllabus of different boards and the syllabus of NCERT, CBSE, and COBSE to make sure there is uniformity across the country. Understanding the exam pattern is essential to boost entrance test preparation. Students should have complete knowledge about different aspects of the exam such as the mode of exam, languages in which the test is conducted, duration of the exam, type of questions, official marking scheme, and various other factors that will prove detrimental in the preparation for the students. The NEET question paper is divided into two sections called Section A and Section B. In Section A, 35 questions are asked from subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology and in Section B 15 questions are asked from each subject. In Section B students have to attempt 10 questions out of 15 in each subject. The NEET exam is conducted in 13 different languages like English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. This test is conducted offline by NTA in pen-paper mode at the specific test centres.

  5. The question paper comprises multiple-choice-questions only and no descriptive question is asked in the exam. The exam duration as per the latest update is 3 hours & 20 minutes and for PwD candidates is 4 hours and 25 minutes. Students are awarded +4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. Fifty questions are asked from each subject, out of which 45 questions have to be attempted by the students. The NEET exam is for a total of 720 marks.
