Ltd. On CRO: Extended help to resolve their registration cancellation issue. • Meetings with SESEI Project Partners: • GoToMeeting with Mr. Carmine Rizzo and members for the ETSI/3GPP ICT Security Workshop • 3GPP SA3LI#68 Meeting from 30th January to 2nd February 2017 (India) • ETSI TC LI # 47 Meeting from 5th to 7th February 2018 (India) • GoToMeeting call with IEC and CEN CENELEC officials to review the presentation to be given by SESEI on behalf of CG-SEG Chairman at India Smart Grid Forum 2018 • GoToMeeting with Ms. Chantal Bonardi, ETSI to understand ETSI work around the subject of Broadcasting as strong interest from Indian Industry and Standardization bodies

Events 1(2) • Organized: ETSI & 3GPP Workshop on ICT Security - Policy & Standards: This workshop focused on the crucial role standardization plays in Data Security, Cyber Security, Telecom Security and Lawful Intercept in each country. Subject matter experts from 3GPP and ETSI participated. Workshop was very successful and received appreciation. • Speaker: Second IEC-IEEE World Smart Energy Standardization Coordination Workshop: on behalf of CG-SEG Chairman SESEI represented CEN-CENELEC-ETSI in the India Smart Grid Forum 2018 • Speaker: Europe-India IP Dialogue: An Enabler for Research & Innovation”, organized by EBTC: SESEI attended ICT focused roundtable presented update on the IP policy of Project Partners, TSDSI and other updates such as EaS, Standards based research, SME. • Speaker: The 5th edition of India m2m + iot Forum 2018: SESEI is the Chair of the Advisory Committee and spearheaded the proceeding at the conference and promoted oneM2M work

Event 2(2) • Speaker: 2nd IoT India expo: SESEI Presented the latest on IoT related standardization • Attended: National Conference on Improving Accessibility organized by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of State for Social Justice and Empowerment: EN 301 549 adoption • Attended: Launch of BIF/TARI Research Report on Mobile Telephony in India “Towards a Sustainable Innovation Economy” • Attended: Conference on Demystifying Indian EMC regulation 2018 organized by Rohde & Schwarz • Attended: India Meeting of 3GPP Executives on Catalyzing 5G in India organized by COAI. The event brought executive 3GPP leaders and international experts on 5G face to face with Government, mobile network operators and other industry stakeholders. • Attended: Inauguration of the Exhibition on ‘German Energiewende’ – German Energy Transition and workshop

Quarterly Report: Snap Shot 1(5) • Generic: • BIS working on the part two of Indian Standard 16335 which would consider India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) cyber security manual as reference document • Cabinet has approved Consumer Protection Bill , pending Parliament approval • Govt raises import duty on some of electronics items, including smartphone, TV to encourage Make in India • Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has issued Guidelines for Certification of Capacitors as per IS 2993, IS 13340 (Part 1) and IS 13585 (Part 1) • The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has published Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with National Standards Bodies (NSBs) of 23 countries. • Smart Cities: • Update on BIS ICT divisional council work through Panel on Smart Infrastructure LITDC/P2 which is now LITD 28: oneM2M Architecture alignment through participation • Update on 100 Smart Cities Mission • 09 winning cities in Round 4 of the Smart Cities Challenge announced by MoUD • Government releases Rs 9,940 crore (1.325B Euro) to states for Smart Cities Mission • Govt launched liveability standards to rate & rank 116 Indian cities

Quarterly Report: Snap Shot 2 (5) • Automotive: • Department of Heavy Industries (DHI) has released draft National Auto policy to provide a long-term, stable and consistent policy regime and roadmap: Standards alignment with global standards are part of it • ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) has set up labs for testing BS-VI engines and is planning to start testing facility for Electric Vehicle (EV) batteries in 6 months • Second phase of Faster Adoption & Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme is announced to push for electric vehicles target: 100% by 2030 • Electrical Equipment including Consumer Electronics: • MNRE & GIZ has Signed Agreement to Improve Framework Conditions for Grid Integration of Renewable Energies • New specifications for solar Photo-Voltaic (PV) modules announced • Govt planning to amend Electricity Act to allow e-vehicle charging stations to sell power • Govt. has proposed to draft Cybersecurity Mandatory Testing framework for Imported Power Equipment

Quarterly Report: Snap Shot 3(5) • ICT : • Commerce and Industry Ministry Sets up Task Force on Artificial Intelligence for Economic Transformation  • @ TSDSI • 8 Study Item (SI), 7 SWIP (Study Work Item Proposal) under review and 12 New Work Items: TSDSI • T-SDN, Broadband PPDR, Cloud Interoperability, 60GHz for 4G/5G, IoT Services, Dual SIM, NB-IoT, Network Slicing, TDD NB-IoT, 5G NR • @ Ministry of Electronics and IT (Meity) • Meity released guidelines for Series Approval of Products for Implementation of "Electronics and Information Technology Goods CRO, 2012" –Phase III • MeitY launched Cyber Surakshit Bharat (Cyber Safe India) to strengthen Cybersecurity (PPP): Conceptualized with the mission to spread awareness about cybercrime and building capacity for safety measures: Awareness, Education and Enablement

Quarterly Report: Snap Shot 4(5) • @ Department of Telecom (DoT) & Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC), Ministry of Communication • Department of Telecom has assigned responsibility of mobile tracking project to C-DoT • Central registry of stolen and lost devices – earlier with BSNL • Telecom department is working on issuing guidelines for M2M service provider registration guidelines • TSPs have been asked to start issuing 13-digit mobile numbers to M2M customers in India. • TEC is drafting Essential requirements (ERs) for the Telecommunication Equipment and is currently going through a consultation process with Industry. • Devices working on Bluetooth and NFC, Wearable Health Devices, IoT gateways, Devices working on Non-Cellular LPWAN technologies, Devices working on RFIDs, Smart Meter Communication Modules, Tracking Devices, • Along with IEC, IEEE, ITU, Many ENs have also been asked for compliance such as EN 300.328, EN 300.330, EN 301 511, EN 301 908-2, EN 301 908-13 etc. • TEC has established a National Working Group (NWG-13) corresponding to ITUT Study Group 13 • Future Networks, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Content Delivery in IPTV, Identity Management etc.

Methodologies to achieve objectives • Continue to promote cooperation between India and Europe in the field of standardization and related policies/legislations • Continue to Promote European standardization, legal and regulatory model • Gather, analyse and disseminate information about ongoing related India standardization policy initiatives and specific connections to selected industrial sectors and themes • Monitor progress of the EU-India relations, and specifically its research and innovation element by ensuring that standardization is addressed as an essential element in this cooperation. • Strengthen links between ESOs and relevant bodies in India and contribute to shaping the terms of the dialogue, both at institutional level as well as in specific industry sectors. • Efforts creating European influencing community through EU Association, Organization and Members • Help Partners prioritize and focus actions, including with the identification/qualification of technical areas for cooperation • Provide operational support to ESOs, EC and EFTA activities in India
